As the New Year is getting underway, I would like to thank all of the current membership for supporting our local affiliate. We are now over 161 members strong, and still growing.

That is quite an accomplishment for us. As you know, our affiliate is dedicated to the knowledge end education of the Supply Management Professional. With that in mind, we are ready to assist you in your professional development whether it is educational or networking for the best possible source for information. Please contact any board member if you need assistance with the affiliate for any issue. We value your participation, and look forward to assisting you with your professional development.

At February's General membership meeting, we will hold an open election for the position of Executive Secretary for our affiliate. The nominee is Ms. Trina Johnson. If duly elected, Trina will be coming to our affiliate in an effort to support the Board of Directors in a position that has been vacant most of the year. I applaud her initiative and would welcome her to the board, with your help. Please make every effort to attend this months meeting as we value your input in the direction of our association.

Mrs. Michelle Vavasseur has been very busy working on our Golf outing. She will be soliciting your help in the upcoming weeks to assist us in putting on our Annual Buyer Supplier Golf Tournament in May. This year the tournament will be held at Willowdale Country Club. They have treated us very favorably in the past and last year's tournament was successful due to their assistance. If you are available to participate please contact Michelle at mvavas1@entergy.com . She would be glad to hear from you. Also, if you have any donations for door prizes, or connections to anyone that is willing to donate a door prize, please let Michelle know, and she will make arrangements with you to collect them. Please come out and participate if you are able. It will be a fun event worth your time.

Please remember as our Director of National and Southwest Affairs, Ms. Dione Gorum, mentioned that as a member of NAPM-GNO, Inc. you are also a member of the Southwest Supply Chain. We encourage you to explore the possibilities of joining a forum or discussion board. These are designed with you in mind, and are a way to facilitate the sharing of a particular knowledge base for your industry. This can be a valuable tool in today's marketplace. Your inclusion is simple, just contact Dione gorumdh@intship.com and she can assist you in joining if you are interested.

I would like to personally invite you as a member of NAPM-GNO, Inc. to attend any of the board meetings as a guest. This in no way will obligate you. We would welcome any new ideas that you have on the business of our affiliate. If you would like to join us for one of the meeting, please call or e-mail me and I will include you in the announcement.

Mr. Mike Vavasseur as Professional Development Chair is continuing his series of C.P.M. study classes. Please feel free to attend any of these classes as they are a benefit of your membership within this organization. Mike will also be offering the exam at the EDG Offices in Metairie. The posting is on the website for your review, and Mike welcomes all to attend this testing. Or you may contact Mike at mvavasseur@edg.net ...
